Welcome to 11th Grade English. This year we will be studying American Literature. I hope you are ready for an exciting and enjoyable year.  In our studies, we will be looking at America through the point of view of African Americans such as Lorraine Hansberry, Frederick Douglass, and Langston Hughes. We will be left to ponder the "American Dream" by writers such as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Upton Sinclair. We will experience hardship, survival, and eventual triumph of writer and journalist Jeannette Walls. Through this literature, you will learn more about yourself and discover that you have a voice. I look forward to working with all of you this year and to hearing your unique "voice".
Your instructor, Ms. Robb
